Capt. Remi Klos, AFNI, showcases two decades of comprehensive maritime experience, having served for companies such as Wilhelmsen, Grindrod Shipping and Maersk Tankers. His seagoing career culminated in sailing as Master where he commanded oil/product/chemical tanker vessels for 7 years until he progressed into educational endeavours. He was involved in organizing a shore-based ship handling and bridge team management simulation training facility in his hometown where he developed training programs and later served as trainer/assessor. Simultaneously, he started delivering vessel audits, inspections and onboard training to clients’ vessels around the globe. Currently pursuing an MSc degree in Intercultural Psychology, Remi is deeply invested in working with the human element within maritime operations. His focus is on enhancing behavioral competencies and implementing advanced team communication concepts, such as the Process Communication Model and Transactional Analysis, which have been very successful in organizations worldwide. This unique blend of operational expertise and innovative psychological approaches define his auditing and training style, highlighting his dedication to soft skills development and achieving safety and quality through addressing the fundamental element - People.‍
