With over 40 years in the marine industry, 28 of those at sea and 9 in command, Andy brings extensive expertise in Audits and Inspections, Training, marine operations, fleet management, and maritime safety to the Eask team. Throughout his career, Andy has demonstrated exceptional leadership in high-pressure environments, ensuring safe, incident-free operations across complex projects worldwide.
Andy has managed two major Chevron Shipping fleets: the VLCC Fleet (USA) and Aframax Fleet (Singapore), as well as serving as West Coast Marine Assurance Superintendent for Chevron, ensuring safety and compliance in vessel operations.
He has conducted numerous vessel inspections and audits, including On-Hire/Off-Hire, Loadline, Condition, Damage, Pre-SIRE, and Navigational Audits, as well as developing Chevron’s Navigational Standards Document and Marine Term Contract Management Procedure for Marine Assurance. Andy created Chevron’s Riding Superintendent Checklist, which went on to become the company-wide Marine Assurance Checklist.
Andy’s professional experience includes Fleet Training, marine operations, fleet management, as well as leading TCO FGP Marine Operations in Kazakhstan, managing a fleet of 16 vessels, a specialized port, and complex load-in/load-out modular operations. Andy oversaw a diverse workforce of 18 nationalities, ensuring smooth coordination across vessel, port, dredging, and land transport operations.
Andy has managed California State Oil Spill Response Drills off San Diego and has also served asa member of the San Francisco Harbour Safety Committee.
Past Chairman of the Californian charity "Wooden Boats for Veterans," supporting veterans through maritime initiatives.
